5 Signs Your Southern California Home Needs New Gutters

A simple visual inspection checklist for homeowners.

1. Stains or streaks below the gutter line

Marks on siding or fascia can show that water is spilling behind the gutter or over the front. A blocked outlet, poor slope or failed joint may be the cause.

2. A gutter pulling away from the fascia

A visible gap can point to loose hangers or fascia that no longer holds the fasteners securely. The wood condition should be checked before the gutter is reattached.

3. Sagging between hangers

A sag can hold standing water and keep the run from draining toward the outlet. One area may be repairable, depending on the surrounding system.

4. Rust spots or a damaged finish

Surface wear does not always require full replacement, but holes, widespread corrosion or repeated leaks deserve a closer look.

5. Plants or persistent debris

Plants and packed debris show that water and organic material have been sitting in the gutter. Cleaning may solve the immediate problem, while the gutter condition determines what comes next.

Repair or replacement?

An on-site assessment can separate a cleaning issue or focused repair from a system that is failing more broadly. See our gutter repair and replacement service for the questions we check.
