Downspout Installation & Drainage

A gutter can collect the water, but the downspout still has to move it to the right place. We plan outlet locations and discharge paths around the home.

Downspout Placement Matters

Downspouts should give each gutter run a practical exit and avoid concentrating roof water where it can create another problem. Placement also affects how the finished system looks on the house.

Look Beyond the Gutter

During the estimate, we look at where each downspout can discharge, nearby walls and walkways, the existing drainage setup and how visible the downspout will be from the main exterior.

Questions Homeowners Ask

Can you add a downspout to an existing gutter?

In many cases, yes. We first check whether an additional outlet is practical for the existing run and where the new downspout can discharge.

Why does my gutter overflow even when it looks clean?

The run may not have enough outlet capacity, the downspout may be restricted or water may be concentrated into one area by the roofline. We inspect the system before recommending a change.

Can downspouts be moved?

Sometimes. The new location has to work both for the gutter run and for drainage around the home.
